Prairie Vision
Prairie Vision is the regional development initiative of Absolutely!Aberdeen. The goal of Prairie Vision is to accelerate the growth and vitality of northeastern South Dakota. A key aspect of this objective is to forge partnerships among organizations and individuals who aren’t accustomed to cooperating and networking.
Population decline due to youth out-migration and aging citizens is a primary concern across the Northern Plains. By unifying efforts, communities in northeastern South Dakota can become stronger and better prepared to succeed. As challenges or opportunities in the region become apparent, Prairie Vision will convene networks of individuals to mitigate risks, pursue opportunities or to build political will to effect positive change.
Prairie Vision believes that:
- by unifying around shared concerns we strengthen our voice.
- by pooling our resources/assets (intellectual, political, financial, etc.) we can effect positive change and development.
- we can maintain our individual community identities in an era of regional collaboration.
- assisting another community in the region will, in the long run, strengthen one’s own community.
- building relationships and understanding regional needs and resources brings about mutual opportunities.
